Job Description:
We have unique opportunities for electronic hardware engineers
at various seniority levels to drive the development of motor
control solutions from business case to production launch. Hardware
Electronics Engineers will be responsible for the execution of
multi-generation product plans for the Climate Solutions business,
and take direct ownership of component engineering activities or
electronics design activities on key projects. These design
engineering roles will involve being a key influencer of Regal
Rexnord's future products and interacting with numerous teams from
Research and Development, product management, application
engineering and manufacturing support to create, develop and
support technology differentiated innovative products over their
life cycles.Major Responsibilities:
- Execute speedy development and production launch of new
products coming out of Research & Development, or from product
specifications supplied by the product management team
- Ensure robust development via delivery of key project
documentation including CTQ Flowdowns, DFMEAs, concept design
reviews and detailed final design reviews
- Lead design of hardware electronics for power electronics
converters (115Vac, 230Vac & 460Vac, 1A to 20A) for electric
machines
- Plan project activities and engagement of engineering resources
based on schedule requirements
- Simulate mixed analog and digital electronic circuits
- Select and assess suitability and reliability of electronic
components
- Prototype electronic circuits and document measurements and
results
- Execute reliability test plans and review qualification test
results
- Develop, review and approve electrical documentation
(schematics, assembly drawings, parts lists, PCB layouts,
etc.)
- Interface with circuit board contract electronic manufacturers
(CEM) during project design phase and manufacturing phase,
optimizing designs for manufacturability and reliability
- Mentor junior engineersRequired Education / Experience /
Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical
Engineering Technology, equivalent degree or work experience.
Master preferred
- 5+ years relevant experience
- Experience developing electronic circuitry from concept to high
volume production
- Experience designing AC-line connected inverters (single phase,
H-bridge, three phase) for electric machines (induction or
permanent magnet motors)
- Experience designing mixed analog and digital circuits
- Experience designing switch mode power supplies (buck and fly
back configurations)
- Experience designing analog electronic communication features
(isolated RS-232, RS-485, NFC antennas)
- Experience developing electronics meeting agency requirements
(e.g. UL 60730), and developing supporting documentation for agency
certification
- Experience with circuit schematic capture and layout
- Experience with circuit and system-level simulation
software
- Experience testing and troubleshooting high voltage electronics
up to 650Vdc
- Experience with evaluating the reliability of electronic
circuits
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and providing technical
leadership for the execution of complex new product development
activities
- Experience with electric machine control theory (Induction and
PMSM)
- Experience designing, tuning, troubleshooting digital motor
control algorithms
- Six Sigma Training/Certification (Green Belt / DFLSS)
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, TEAMS, etc.)
- Proven track record of developing innovative circuitry applied
to the control of electric machines
- Skilled in organizing, prioritizing and coordinating working
relationships with all levels of personnel within and outside of
the organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability
to coordinate multiple projects simultaneouslyTravel: Domestic and
International travel is required for this position. (May be >
