SummaryThe EH&S Manager is responsible for developing,
implementing, and maintaining comprehensive EH&S programs
across two industrial equipment rental locations. This role
requires a strong commitment to safety, health, facilities
maintenance, and DOT and environmental compliance. The EH&S
Manager will work closely with operations, maintenance, logistics,
human resources and other departments to ensure a safe and
sustainable work environment. By fulfilling this role, the EH&S
Manager will play a critical role in protecting employees, the
environment, and the company's reputation. LOCATION- Onsite
RESPONSIBILITIESProgram Development and Implementation:Develop,
implement, and maintain EH&S policies, procedures, and programs
aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify
potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Develop and
deliver comprehensive safety training programs for all employees,
including new hire orientation, quarterly trainings, and
specialized training as needed. Oversee the development and
implementation of emergency response plans and conduct regular
drills. Manage safety committee and monthly safety
meetings.Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure compliance with
all applicable federal, state, and local EH&S regulations,
including OSHA, EPA, and DOT. Monitor regulatory changes and update
programs and procedures as necessary. Conduct regular audits and
inspections to identify and address potential compliance gaps.
Manage recordkeeping and reporting requirements, including incident
reports, accident investigations, and regulatory filings.DOT
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable DOT regulations
(e.g., FMCSRs - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations).Conduct
regular audits of driver logs, vehicle inspection reports, and
other DOT-related documentation.Manage the company's Drug and
Alcohol testing program for DOT regulated employees. This includes
random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and return-to-duty
testing.Stay up-to-date on changes to DOT regulations and update
programs and procedures accordingly.Represent the company in
interactions with DOT officials. Driver Safety: Develop and
implement driver safety training programs, including defensive
driving, vehicle handling, and cargo securement (if
applicable).Analyze driver performance data to identify trends and
implement preventative measures.Establish clear guidelines for safe
vehicle operation, including speed limits, distracted driving
policies, and weather-related driving procedures.Investigate all
vehicle accidents and incidents to determine root causes and
implement corrective actions.Promote a proactive driver safety
culture through leadership, coaching, and mentoring.Manage the
process for reporting vehicle accidents to insurance and regulatory
agencies.Incident Investigation and Prevention:Investigate all
accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents to determine root
causes and implement corrective actions. Analyze incident data to
identify trends and implement preventative measures. Promote a
proactive safety culture through leadership, coaching, and
mentoring. Reports all accident and injury loss statistics to
safety committee and management.Safety Management Systems:Implement
and maintain an effective safety management system, including
regular safety meetings, safety committees including first
responders, and safety performance metrics. Utilize safety software
and tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate
reports. Maintain all aspects of chemical control through the
Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) Management Program and update
MSDS.Environmental Management:Oversee environmental compliance,
including waste management, spill prevention, and pollution
control. Develop and implement environmental programs to minimize
the company's environment impact. Budget Management:Develop and
manage the EH&S budget, including expenses for training,
equipment, and consulting services. Forecast and allocate funds for
capital projects. Develop, manage, and enforce CapEx budgets
aligned with business objectives. Facilities Management:Ensure
building and systems are functioning properly. Manage vendor
relationships with cleaning company, AED and first aid vendors.
Obtain necessary permits and regulatory obligations to meet
compliance requirements.REQUIREMENTSMUST HAVEBachelor's degree in
safety, environmental science, engineering, or related field.5+
years of experience in EH&S management, industrial equipment
rental industry experience a plus. Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA
and DOT regulations and Worker's Compensation experience.Knowledge
of DOT regulations, specifically FMCSRs. Experience with DOT drug
and alcohol testing requirements. Familiarity with electronic
logging devices (ELDs) and other DOT-related technologies.Excellent
communication, interpersonal, organizational skills.Strong
analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work
independently and part of a team.Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Suite and safety software.Regular travel expectancy of 25-50%
between the two locations (Fort Wayne, IN and Fort Worth, TX) will
be required.NICE TO HAVEProfessional certifications such as
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial
Hygienist (CIH) are preferred.The ability to work in various
industrial settings, including outdoor environments. Lifting up to
